- অতীতকালে কোন কাজ ঘটেছিল বা অতীতের কোন অভ্যাস বোঝাতে Past Indefinite Tense বা Simple Past Tense হয়। (Past Indefinite Tense is used to denote an action completed in past or a past habit)
- এই Tense এ বাংলা ক্রিয়ার শেষে ‘ল’ থাকে।
Sentence structure:
[Subject + Past form of Verb + Object (যদি থাকে)]
- আমি কাজটি করেছিলাম = I did the work.
- আমরা কাজটি করেছিলাম = We did the work.
- তুমি/তোমরা কাজটি করেছিলে = You did the work.
- সে কাজটি করেছিল = He/She did the work.
- তাহারা কাজটি করিয়াছিল = They did the work.
- তার ছেলেবেলা লন্ডনে কেটেছিল = He spent his boyhood in London.
- সে দশ বছল বয়স থেকে ইংরেজি শেখা শুরু করেছিল = He began learning English since (for) the age of ten.
